Following the plan.

This is the start of something linked to my previous inspiration. I am fascinated by technology and science. It is an exciting day when Wired magazine arrives in the mailbox. Circuitry, schemata, and technical drawings have such an austere beauty, and I want to translate that into fabric. Maybe ultimately as a pillow, or a wall hanging?

Finally received my Spoonflower invite.

While wandering the internets a few weeks ago I found a fabric-on-demand site called Spoonflower. Delightful. Submitted a request, and received my invite today. So many ideas! I so love the pink and orange leaves in this fabric, maybe something like that?

I'm not over birds.

I hear in some quarters that all the nature inspired design and craft themes, including deer, mushrooms, trees, miscellaneous forest creatures, and especially birds, are played out.  Bah, I WILL not let go.  I will hold on to all my faux-bois pillows and table runners!  Mushroom accents?  YES!  But my particular love remains with birds.  This may be the equivalent of keeping that harvest gold refrigerator, but trends be damned, I love all things bird.  These ceramic lovelies came courtesy of Etsy, and hold court on top of the sitting room bookshelf.

Beautiful patterns at the Experience Music Project.  I particularly love the contrast of the scarlet foliage with the yellow and orange architectural squares.
